Nature’s abundance

Our retreats are on a pristine property with direct Gloucester river frontage, a huge entertaining deck that overlooks the river and extensive camping areas.

This area is perfect for those using the area as a base from which to explore the region – four wheel driving, bushwalking, etc.The entertainment deck overlooking the river incorporates an open fireplace (firewood provided) with large rotating cooking plate, huge colonial dining table and chairs (seats 10) and a covered, outdoor kitchen with power and lighting.

The river boasts areas of shallows, ‘spa’ rapids and a deep swimming hole. Two platypus have been seen at dawn in this pool several times and small fish are seen in abundance in the river. Other wildlife include kangaroo, wallaby, possums, owls and echidna.

The main house is the original dwelling and is largely built of local timbers and river rocks. It is a split-level house with 3 bedrooms on the upper floor – all having a commanding view of the river below. In the lounge room we have a large wood fire that heats the whole house! Two of the three sofas are double-size sofa beds (with doonas, duvet covers & pillows provided). The upper veranda has fantastic views of the property and the river below and is a great spot to sit and read in the afternoon.

The studio house has 2 huge concertina doors that open up completely and lead onto the entertaining deck, which is perched right in front of the river. The living area is air conditioned+heated and also includes a bar top and stools at which meals can be taken. There is a separate modern bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and washing machine, also providing its own unique, but private view of the river below.
